Lake Manyara is a park that has a variety of landscapes. Nearer the entrance of the park it is lush and green with some towering hardwood trees that are constantly fed by the streams that flow from springs in the escarpment. These soon give way to the Acacia trees and scrub that you see here. Closer to the lake there is a bit of open savannah and next to the lake you find some swampy or marshy areas. Then, of course, you have the lake environment itself. Magnificent. An African microcosm.
